6 Best Cities in the World for Music Lovers
Traveling is fun, there’s no denying in that. But what if you have a shared interest in traveling and music? Some of us are lucky to have a residence in cities that are popular for music; you get several opportunities to enjoy the music and maybe even learn it. But if that’s not the case and you’re on schedule for a summer vacay, I’ve got a list of options for you to consider. Some cities in the world have built a reputation because of their music scenario. I’ll tell you about a few of them.
Memphis – Tennessee
It’s the home of rock n’ roll. If there’s a place where the soul of this legendary music genre resides, it’s Memphis. If you’re headed to Memphis, you might as well enjoy a tour to Sun Studio. Another tourist attraction for music lovers is the Memphis Rock’ n ‘Roll Museum. Then, you can head to Beale Street to listen to amateurs singing the hits from the 80s. Lately; however, the live music scene of Memphis has become a little dull. To give your Memphis trip the perfect end note, visit Elvis Presley’s home Graceland.
Berlin – Germany
You might think of Germans as serious people, but their music is beyond amazing! Berlin has got the best techno beats in its clubs. But that’s not it, head to the highbrow halls and see their orchestras play most magnificently. I like the variety that Berlin’s music scene brings to the table. This city has got something for everyone, that’s precisely what makes the trip to Berlin an unforgettable experience. You can even enjoy music while taking a stroll in the parks because that’s where you’ll find most of the amateur artists singing away.
Nashville – Tennessee
It is safe to say that Tennessee is the state of musicians. And Nashville City would be the music capital of this state. Nashville’s music scene has been intense since the time music was played on turntables! Since it is a Music City, you’ll find the best music gadgets here. And it is famous for turntables; the modern ones, I mean. Nashville has many music venues that you can explore while you’re there. Those of you who are country music fans shouldn’t miss out on the Winners Bar & Grill. It’s the place where every famous country singer has performed at least once.
New Orleans – Louisiana
Across the states, you won’t find a city brighter and more colorful than New Orleans. It’s quite literally the same as you see it in The Originals (A super popular TV series), except the vampires, werewolves and witches of course! The French Quarter is the hub of culture and jazz, and you can hear the notes spilling from every bar. It is considered the birthplace of the jazz genre. The best time of the year to visit New Orleans is during Mardi Gras. Throughout a couple of weeks, several parades are held across the French Quarter. And the best part of this festival is the masquerade balls.
Havana – Cuba
If you’re a Salsa fan, Havana is the place for you. The club scenario of Havana is different from the rest of the world. I mean, where else do you see jugglers in a club? Part of the reason why Cuba’s music scene is so developed is because of its educational system. The cabaret of Havana is popular, and the backward music system is quite helpful because you don’t need complex music hardware to experiment with cabaret rhythm. You’ll probably find the best cabaret professors in the world here.
Pune – India
In recent years, a vast majority of people from the West have been traveling to India. People head here to learn yoga from Indian yogis or enjoy the lively scene of Indian beaches. Taj Mahal is a must-see venue. But if you’re a music fan, Pune is the place where you should go. Pune is the center of Indian Classical Music. And if you’re looking for a twist, the Hard Rock Café will provide you just that with the special Thursday concerts. If you end up developing an interest in classical music, you can find cheap residence and excellent tutorship services there quite easily.
